Flight Training Professionals, founded by Keith Wynsma and Ed Comisky, began training customers at the Orlando Executive Airport in August of 2006.  However, our story starts earlier than that.

In 1998 Ed was the Director of Training at Comair Aviation Academy and Keith was a pilot and instructor for Comair Airlines.  They were given a project to develop a training program for Comair Airlines that would take Comair Academy customers and prepare them to be first officers for the airline in the Canadair Regional Jet.  While working together on the program their discussions often turned to the problems in the flight training industry and how to improve the way the industry could teach the basic skills and knowledge a pilot needed to be safe and competent. Keith insists to this day that he decided to start this flight school then and it took him 8 years to convince Ed to do it.  Keith says “Ed is just a little slow”.

By early 2007 Ed and Keith felt that the company had enough momentum and were ready to take it to the next level. To insure success they brought Lennie and Judy Lyons into the ownership team.  With the added support the company was ready to take off.  As they say “the rest is history”.
